Overview
Gary Bishop is an executive coach, facilitator and organisational leader with over 30 years’ experience supporting leaders, teams and organisations to navigate complexity, unlock growth and deliver sustainable, meaningful change. He works with senior leaders across public, private and social sectors, helping them strengthen clarity, deepen confidence and increase their overall impact.
Drawing on a unique blend of senior leadership experience, systems thinking and transformational coaching, Gary brings both strategic insight and a deep understanding of human behaviour in organisations. Throughout his career, he has founded, led and scaled organisations operating in highly complex environments, where success has depended on balancing long-term vision with practical delivery, culture and stakeholder needs. His coaching enables leaders to question assumptions, broaden perspectives and create the conditions for lasting personal and organisational transformation.
Gary is currently Co-Founder and Chief Executive of Arch Health, where he has led the development of innovative healthcare services for people experiencing homelessness and multiple disadvantage. Under his leadership, Arch has grown into a widely recognised example of integrated, person-centred healthcare delivery, demonstrating the impact of compassionate and coordinated approaches to complex social challenges.
Prior to this, Gary founded and led the Justlife Foundation, an organisation that has influenced national thinking on housing, inequality and social justice. His work helped to shape sector-wide conversations while pioneering practical models that continue to inform and inspire service design and delivery today.
Alongside his executive leadership roles, Gary has extensive experience coaching senior leaders, entrepreneurs, founders, clinicians and managers. His coaching approach is grounded in the belief that individuals already hold the insight they need to move forward; his role is to create the space, challenge and support that allows that insight to emerge. This enables clients to act with greater clarity, ownership and purpose.
Gary is known for his warm, authentic style and his ability to build trust quickly with people from all backgrounds. He creates reflective, focused environments where individuals and teams can think more clearly, communicate more openly and perform at their best. Clients value his ability to cut through complexity, gently challenge established thinking and surface new possibilities.
His academic and professional qualifications include an MBA from Durham University Business School, a Diploma in Transformational Coaching (EMCC), a Diploma in Executive Coaching from the University of Manchester, and an MA from the University of Sheffield. He is also a speaker and facilitator on topics including leadership, wellbeing, health and social change.
