After working at the Treasury Department, he started to work as Finance Manager at Anadolu Kredi Kartlari (AKK), the first and only private credit card company in Turkey. He worked his way up to the top management of AKK and his responsibilities extended from finance to other areas such as legal and tourism.

Since AKK, he has had the opportunity to work with TMSF (Savings Deposit Insurance Fund of Turkey) and industrial and commercial conglomerates  Çukurova, Nergis and Zorlu Groups. After AKK, he  also set up his own tourism company and management consulktancy before being invited to lead one of the group companies at TransTurk Holding (TTH), where he became Holding/Group CFO.

Ertay completed the ACTP program as well as the executive and team coaching programmes. He is one of the few coaches in Turkey to have attained the ICF’s PCC credential.

Currently, he is actively involved in mentoring start-ups at ITU Çekirdek (an early stage incubation centre), visiting universities as guest speaker, acting as a mediator for the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office and conducting a voluntary coaching project at Darüşşafaka (basketball club). He is a member of the Audit Board of Galatasaray SC (football club).
