Presentation skills…

…TED-style!

Making a presentation is often said to be one of life’s most stressful events. But it doesn’t have to be that way. It can actually be fun! Especially if you tap into the secrets of the TEDx presenters – the world’s best speakers.

Let us show you how. Whether you want to prepare for a speech at a major conference or build confidence ahead of your first ever client pitch, we can help make sure your message ‘lands’.

We work across the board, one-to-one with Chief Execs, with managers at all levels, and on graduate development programmes. We’ve helped thousands of people improve their presentation skills, from hundreds of different organisations of all shapes and sizes, across the UK and internationally.

Just think how much we could help you… your team… or your organisation.

THE MAIN EVENT

A one-day workshop

This is the main event, our very popular ‘flagship’ programme.

A workshop structured around the iconic TED Talks, the gold standard for public speaking.

Learn a step-by-step method to inspire and motivate your audience over the course of a day.

Master the art of storytelling, learn to paint strong visual imagery and understand how to get your audience behind your ideas, no matter how audacious or complex they seem.

A fun and challenging session for those who need to shock, wow and captivate!

VIRTUAL

A two- or three-part virtual session (depending on group size)

The main event works perfectly when delivered virtually – because we’ve changed it! It’s run over two or three two-hour sessions instead. Preferably on Zoom.

In the first session, for a group of up to 12, we reveal the secrets behind great presentations. The second session is when you get to practise – in a group of up to 6. So if there are up to 12 in the main group, that means a second practice session.

This way, you spend four hours on the programme rather than six, but you cover just as much, get practice and feedback, and with just as much fun along the way!

BITE-SIZED

The 60-minute version

If you need to start slowly, then whet people’s appetites with a 60-minute virtual session.

This session will open people’s eyes to what they could – and should – be doing to improve their presentation skills.

It will give them a lot to think about.

But be warned – it’s likely to leave them wanting more. It’s only an hour and it’s virtual, so there’s not a lot of opportunity for skills practice. Best keep some budget up your sleeve for when you see the feedback!

Why TED-style?

The best TED Talks set the gold standard for public speaking today. We can also learn from the worst. Read the article, here, to see why taking a TED-style approach could help transform your presentation skills.

MASTERCLASS

A two-day workshop

For those who can’t have too much of a good thing!

It’s a more in-depth workshop than the one-day session, giving you a chance to really stretch yourself and polish a ‘live’ presentation (bring one you’re working on already).

This masterclass is recommended for those who already have a good understanding of presentation skills and stage presence, but want to further improve their ability to inspire an audience.

BESPOKE

Just a tweak or shall we start over? Your choice!

Naturally, clients sometimes have very specific objectives that can’t really be achieved with an off-the-shelf programme.

We’re more than happy to design a programme just for your organisation, to meet your specific objectives.

This might mean designing something from scratch, completely bespoke. Or it might mean taking the existing programme as a starting point, tailoring it, as we did for one client who wanted sessions for three different levels within their multi-national organisation. See what we came up with:

COACHING

One-to-one support for greater impact

As a director or senior manager, you may well already be an accomplished presenter.

There’s also a fair chance that you’re not. After all, it takes far more than good presentation skills to get within sight of a seat on the Board. You may even have severe stage-fright – lots of people do, even at Board level.

Some one-to-one support could do wonders for your presentation style. Just think how much more of an impact you could make with some voice coaching – how much more authority you would wield with greater control over your body language – how much of a difference it would make if you could get rid of the nerves.

This is where Susie comes in. She ‘gets it’.

SPEECHWRITING

A different approach – from script to stage

How often are you called upon to deliver a really important speech or presentation?

At a product launch, perhaps, with key buyers and stakeholders present? Or at an industry conference, with the media reporting it? Or making a business-critical announcement to staff?

For events such as these, you really need to make sure your material ‘lands’. These can be career-defining moments. You need to get it right. You need to prepare.

This is where Susie comes in. Her unique ‘anti-speechwriting’ approach to content creation – from helping articulate the idea, to crafting the script, ensuring the message ‘lands’ and making you look really confident when delivering – has helped lots of senior executives surpass all expectation. What could she do for you?

OTHER OPTIONS

Not all organisations want the TED-style approach.

Other approaches can be equally valid. It depends on the organisation, the circumstances, the learning objectives.

So here are some other options you might find more suitable:

SPECIAL EVENTS

Every organisation needs to put on a different type of event from time to time. It might be an off-site board meeting, a team or company ‘away-day’, a personal development day or just a ‘lite bite’.

A high octane session on presentation skills can lift the mood yet still achieve worthwhile learning objectives. Especially when based around TED principles.
