Team-building activities

For residential events, in particular, or for company conferences and ‘away-days’, it can be very useful to include a fun, physical activity or two which can help energise the participants as well as perform a valuable team-building function. We work with a specialist who offers both ‘fun days’ and creative meeting and conference breaks.

Fun days

These ‘fun days’ give management and staff the opportunity to mix and work together informally, let off steam, have fun and relax socially outside the work environment. Fun day events can be run on- or off-site under any of the following four themes:

Initiative challenge

Initiative challenge
A ‘Krypton Factor’ style event with teams in competition rotating around a series of practical and cerebral problem-solving challenges. The level of challenge is set appropriately to the group, their capabilities, needs and objectives. Many activities can also be run indoors which makes them popular in the UK in winter and if the weather is particularly unkind to us.

Xtreme team challenge

Xtreme team challenge
Push yourself and feel the adrenalin coursing through your body as you experience extreme adventure sports such as abseiling, cave exploration, rock climbing and high ropes challenges.

Country pursuits

Country pursuits
Only on a country pursuits themed event could you attempt to shepherd ducks around an agility course, learn how to accurately shoot arrows from a bow, handle and wonder at eagles and owls, and try your hand at clay shooting with a shotgun!

CSR conservation projects

CSR conservation projects
Your team could get together for a day and give something back. We have a range of challenges and locations which enable us to utilize heritage building skills such as dry stone walling, hedge laying, footpath clearing and even bird box building. Through CSR conservation projects you can spend one day out in the countryside and create something for others to benefit from for years to come.

Creative meeting and conference breaks

Activity breaks are increasingly popular for energising and re-focusing attendees at long meetings and conferences. A simple and short practical activity break provides a change of tempo and geography which will be fun, revitalise people and bring energy back to a room ready for the next presentation. Energiser breaks are generally from 30 to 120 minutes long and depending on available time and venue any of the following will do the trick:

Problem solving challenges

Problem solving challenges
Regardless of group size and location, indoors or outdoors, we can provide a short rotation of fun and challenging practical and cerebral problems for teams to solve as a competition. Alternatively, we can supervise a number of ‘trust’ exercises which are fun and dynamic while focusing the group on the value of shared support and trust.

Adventure sports and ‘high rope’ challenges

Adventure sports and 'high rope' challenges
If your conference or meeting is at a suitably located venue we can take the group off for a short spell of adrenalin-pumping ‘high ropes’ action. Alternatively, at the end of a long day indoors, we can finish off with an energising and challenging climbing or abseiling session.

Country pursuits

Classic country pursuit activities such as archery, clay shooting and duck herding make excellent meeting and conference activity breaks either as a structured competition or simply as an energising outdoor experience.

Treasure hunts

Treasure hunts
Any venue can be host to one of our themed treasure hunts such as our ‘Da Vinci Challenge’ which includes a photo treasure hunt, a scavenger hunt in the local area and practical problems to solve. Energising activity breaks enable you to add an informal team-building element to any meeting or conference, simply taking advantage of having all your people in one place for once.

Other options

Depending on the inclinations of the group, other team activities can be built around wine, cooking – or even rock music. Using an array of creative techniques, Tim and his team elicit words, ideas, themes and messages from a group to develop a narrative for the lyrics. The workshop culminates with the group performing their song with the band live on stage. The performance of the song can also be recorded live and made available as a download or on YouTube.
